PENSWe offer 3 versions of our infrared pen
|
An infrared LED pen with both nib and manual switches for dual functionality. Use it on a hard, smooth, surface and you simply write normally - the nib being pressed against the surface turns on the LED. On a more sensitive surface such as a computer monitor hold the pen near, but not on, the surface and use the manual switch. UK Price £9.50 |

NIB SWITCH |
Infrared LED pen (nib switch) - no more having to fiddle with the switch just touch the surface you are writing on and ...write. Obviously not for use on LCD screens or any other surface that would be damaged by contact. UK price £8.00 |
MANUAL SWITCH ![]() |
Infrared LED pen (manual switch) The pen with a push button you hold to turn on and release to turn off the infrared LED that is detected by the wiimote and allows for interactivity. The switch is positioned to fall neatly under the index finger, a reasonably natural position and if you want to teach children to hold a pen this way it encourages them as they cannot write on the board otherwise. UK price £5.50 Why more than ebay? ...NOT when you include postage and packing! |

Smoothboard on USB Smoothboard is the creation of Boon JIn and has been generously released for free download at his website. Smoothboard allows you to interact with your computer via the wiimote using the infrared pen. You can use the wiimote as a stationary detector or on the move with programs such as PowerPoint. A simple calibration process and you are up and running. |
Wiimote |
Wiimote The wiimote is the nickname for the remote control used with the Nintendo Wii games console. It has motion sensing capabilities and bluetooth connectivity and it is these features that encouraged Johnny Chung Lee to explore how we could use these. See his website at http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~johnny/projects/wii/ for more... The wiimote is powered by two AA batteries. |

Batteries, these pens use the LR41/AG3 small cell type battery. Each pen takes 3. (Pack of 3) £0.90
|
Bluetooth Bluetooth is a short-range wireless communication protocol. With the right adapter your computer can communicate without wires to the wiimote and it is this that makes the whole process of setting up an interactive surface pretty painless. |

|
Mount your Wiimote on a normal tripod, simply* glue this nut to the wiimote and you can mount it on a tripod! (*Gluing can be tricky as the wiimote is very smooth and may need roughing first - it may also detach if handled roughly, but I have never damaged a wiimote doing this!) |

LED VISHAY TSAL6400 After a number of requests we have decided to offer the infrared leds that we use in our pens for sale. Sold in lots of 3 as I'm afraid PayPal takes too big a slice to make selling them singly worthwhile. £1.00 (for 3 LEDs) Want a larger number? - contact us for a quote and possible discount. |
