The nib switch version - no more having to hold a switch in, just a normal press and write action (NOT for use on LCD screens or other surfaces that can be damaged!)
The infrared pen has a push and hold switch that activates the infrared LED contained in the top of the pen. This is detected by the wiimote providing the interactivity. Not to be used in contact with the surface to avoid scratching it or the LED.
The infrared pen is powered by 3 LR41 batteries (button cell style), sometimes labelled as AG3/LR41/LR736/192. To replace these simply pull the silver LED housing out of the pen (to the right as shown on the above picture). Then pull the battery pack out of the silver LED housing and pop out the button batteries. I suggest when you replace the batteries that you replace the middle button battery last as this ensures that the top and bottom batteries get a good contact - but it isn't rocket science is it!
The LED used in these pens is the VISHAY TSAL6400.
