Pens
Replacing batteries. Pull the silver LED casing out from the pen. Pull down in the black battery pack carefully so as not to damage the LED. Push the batteries out and replace with the flat (+) side down. I suggest you replace the bottom and top batteries first and then squeeze in the middle one to force the others into good contacts without damaging the connectors. Replace the battery pack taking care to avoid damaging the LED or the metal connecting wires, it is a tight fit as this provides the necessary resistance to enable the nib switch to work. You should also test the pen immediately to ensure the nib switch mechanism has not been caught up in the housing and that it still turns on and off as expected.
Grey switch. Manual, nib and djewel switch versions of the pen have the same switch near the silver LED housing. On the manual and djewel versions of the pen this does nothing and is redundant, on the nib switch version this switch must be pushed up towards the LED in order to activate the nib detection. Switching it off with this switch means that the pen will not be activated even if the nib is inadvertantly pressed. The other grey switch opens and closes the ball point.
Is it working? As infrared is not visible to the naked eye you can check that the pen is working by holding it in front of a web, or other, camera. With the nib switch version pressing it onto a piece of transparent plastic is a good way to get a feel for the required pressure, be aware though that some cameras have a delay between you pressing the shutter and the image being presented.
Right-click. YES, you can get a right-click by changing the settings (See a video of the Smoothboard Settings process)
Cost differences by country? Ideally I would set different postage rates by country but this is beyond the initial PayPal settings so to reflect the different costs of posting I have set the prices of the pens accordingly.
VAT
Why don't I get a VAT receipt? We are a new, small, enterprise and as such fall below the threshold for VAT registration - so we do not have to charge VAT, and even better - you don't have to pay it!
Ebay
Your pens sell on ebay for more than here. Why? Because it costs more to list items on Ebay than to sell them direct - if you buy from this site I pass the savings on to you. So why use Ebay, well you don't know me so you might want the reassurances and guarantees that Ebay and PayPal offer if you buy through Ebay - you can decide if it's worth it.
